How to Cancel Verizon Business Phone Service
Verizon provides service to businesses large and small, including 96 percent of the Fortune 1000, as of 2012. But, if Verizon is no longer the right choice for your company, then you may want to cancel your phone service. Whether you have a landline, mobile phone, or Internet service, you can terminate your contract with Verizon early and cancel your phone service, although you may have to pay an early termination fee.
Collect all of the information you will need to cancel your service, including your account number and phone numbers connected to your account.
Navigate your web browser to the Verizon Business website, and login to your account.
Click on “Contact,” and find the appropriate number to call for customer service. Verizon does not provide an option to terminate a contract online.
Call and speak to a customer service representative, and explain that you would like to terminate your contract.
- When you talk to the customer service representative ensure that you record the person's name, and when cancellation is complete record the confirmation number that you are given.
- When you terminate a contract with a phone provider before your contract expires you will likely be required to pay an early termination fee. The fee amount varies, but the closer you are to the end of the contract the smaller the fee. Also, if you have previously renewed a contract and received discounted or free phones or equipment you will likely be required to pay the full cost for that equipment.
